About Us

Flamesavers Credit Union was formed in Staffordshire in 1992 and has grown steadily ever since.

Flamesavers Credit Union has a turnover in excess of two million pounds. It has a board that is committed to providing competitive loan interest rates whilst returning as much of the profits as possible to the members in the form of an annual bonus payment.

We were launched at Hanley Fire Station, Stoke on Trent in 1992 and have been fortunate in retaining our offices there due to the generosity and constant support of a succession of Chief Officers.

We expanded in 2001 by inviting Cheshire Fire & Rescue to join the Credit Union. After this successful expansion, we then in 2010 included Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue in our Credit Union, and we have at the moment well over 1,000 members throughout these three brigades.

Based at our offices at Hanley Fire Station, Ann Fisher works as our Office Manager and is available four days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) to answer any enquiries.

Andy Bell (Treasurer) also works in the office alongside Ann on a Monday and also covers the office on a Tuesday so there is always someone there during the week to help with any queries members may have.

In addition to Andy and Ann, Lisa our Credit Union Assistant, our newest member of staff is usually in the office on a Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Office hours are normally 9.00 a.m. – 3.00 p.m. but any variation to this during annual leave times, will be posted on the website, our Facebook page or Twitter.
